Strong partnership: alfamedia and nenna.ai ensure greater security in the use of AI

alfamedia and nenna.ai are working together to increase security when using various AI tools. By integrating advanced software from nenna.ai into the future-oriented solutions from alfamedia, editorial offices and publishing house employees are supported in working in compliance with the DSGVO when using AI tools.

Nenna.ai specialises in the data security of AI solutions and not only clarifies common misunderstandings in the use of such tools, but also prevents the misuse or unintentional disclosure of personal data – regardless of whether AI tools are used in separate applications or via a browser connection.

By masking the sensitive data, it is encrypted directly when it is created and is protected accordingly from misuse or hidden disclosure. This allows publishing houses to apply the possibilities of AI securely and thus minimise data protection risks.

Focus on security and data protection

The customisable browser plug-in recognises such sensitive data as it is entered in the alfa EditorialOrganiser and only transfers it to the AI tool for further processing after masking. Word or PDF documents that are automatically imported into the alfa ContentLine are also checked and encrypted by the nenna.ai software. This reduces liability risks, increases trust in editorial work and makes it possible to use AI tools without creating security gaps.

‘Thanks to the partnership between alfamedia and nenna.ai, content and data records can be protected directly in the alfa ContentLine and the alfa BusinessLine in a DSGVO-compliant manner and fully automatically, so that no additional work is created for employees’, emphasises Oliver Andrich, CTO of alfamedia. ‘We can integrate the nenna.ai tools into our editorial solutions via an API, thus creating additional efficiency in our daily work.’

Over 300 AI tools are automatically recognised by nenna.ai, so that shadow use is specifically prevented. And the best thing about it: no additional hardware is required. The servers are located exclusively in Germany, so that full DSGVO and EU-AI-Act compliance is guaranteed.

Carefree use of AI applications

‘AI tools now make the work of media companies considerably easier. However, employees are often unsure whether they are working in compliance with the DSGVO or whether something has changed in the regulations for the secure use of AI tools’, explains Michael Marcks, CEO of alfamedia. ‘With the integration of nenna.ai, we can eliminate such uncertainties in the day-to-day work of an editorial team, allowing editors to get back to focusing on what is important: generating high-quality journalistic content.

‘Together with alfamedia, we are setting a strong example for secure AI in the workplace,’ says Lars Moll, CEO and co-founder of NENNA.AI. ’Whether in prompts or files, personal and sensitive data remains secure at all times with NENNA.AI. This not only strengthens data protection in the company, but also cyber resilience.’

We are pleased to have found a strong partner in nenna.ai that supports us in a trend-setting way in our use of AI tools.
